Fire in an oil refinery
On Monday morning, a fire broke out in Balongan’s refinery. In fact, medias and residents around confirm that a thick and black smoke was appearing above the oil refinery.
An explosion had been heard all around and, according to the national disaster management agency, for now 6 persons are critically hurt and 1 died of a heart attack due to the explosion. No other casualty has been reported.
The oil company, Pertamina, expects the operations to be over within 5 days. However, they are optimistic as the damage did not reach the oil treatment area which could have been more catastrophic.
The State said that the population would have normal access to fuel but if there were to be an oil shortage in Jakarta, the supplier would be replaced for a while by nearby refineries as Cilacap or Tuban.
Indonesian police are waiting for the end of the fire to discover its cause, but this was probably due to the thunderstorm.

Lundi matin la raffinerie de Balongan a pris feu. En effet, les médias et les habitants confirment qu’une fumée noire et épaisse se dégageait de la raffinerie.
Une explosion a été entendue par les témoins et d'après l’’agence nationale de gestion des catastrophes, pour le moment, six personnes sont gravement blessées et une est décédée suite à une crise cardiaque après l'explosion. Aucun autre mort n’a été signalé à ce jour.
La société pétrolière Pertamina espère la fin des opérations dans les cinq jours. Néanmoins, cette dernière reste optimiste, la catastrophe n’a pas atteint la zone de traitement du pétrole, ce qui aurait pu être plus dramatique.
L’État a déclaré que la population aura un accès normal au carburant, mais que si une pénurie voyait le jour à Jakarta, le fournisseur sera remplacé momentanément par des raffineries voisines comme celles de Cilacap et Tuban.
La police attend la fin de l’incendie avant de lancer une enquête permettant d’en déterminer la cause, mais il est vraisemblable qu’un orage en soit responsable.
